Walking pad desk height calculator: will your desk fit?

Enter your own measurements or start from a source-labeled desk preset. The result shows whether the finished desk range covers a practical starting keyboard-height band—not whether a product is universally “ergonomic.”

Your measurements

Check the height range

Use the finished floor-to-desktop range from your exact assembled desk. Presets are shortcuts, not substitutes for checking the selected configuration.

in

Floor to elbow, standing naturally without the pad.

in

Floor to the surface your feet stand on.

in

Use the desktop height, not only the frame specification.

in

Use the desktop height with your chosen top installed.

Fit result

Starting desktop target

46.5 in

Comfortable fit range

The desk covers the full starting comfort band of 45.5 in–47.5 in.

Treat this as a starting point. Keyboard thickness, shoes, posture, and personal comfort can shift the final height.

The calculation

Use two measured heights and one real desk range.

1

Find your starting target

Standing floor-to-elbow height + floor-to-walking-surface height = starting desktop target.

2

Compare like with like

Use the finished floor-to-desktop minimum and maximum. If a source is frame-only, add the exact selected top once—and label the result as derived.

3

Keep adjustment margin

A desk that only touches the target has little room for a keyboard, tray, shoes, mat, posture change, or measurement error.

How to measure without mixing dimensions

  1. 1. Wear the shoes you expect to use, stand naturally without the pad, and measure floor to the underside of your bent elbow.
  2. 2. Install the pad and any permitted mat, then measure floor to the belt surface under your foot—not to a side cover or handrail.
  3. 3. Use the exact desk configuration. Determine whether its range is frame-only or already includes the top.
  4. 4. Run the calculator, then check the actual keyboard height with the keyboard, tray, monitor, cables, and equipment installed.

Overall pad height is not automatically deck height

Manufacturer dimension tables often describe the outside product envelope. Unless a source explicitly labels the number as the deck, standing surface, step-up, or floor-to-belt height, measure the surface instead of substituting the body profile.

Preset evidence map

The same numbers do not always mean the same thing.

The calculator presets preserve whether a manufacturer publishes a complete desk range or a frame range that still needs an exact desktop. Recheck every configuration at purchase time.

Result boundary

A height pass is not a complete setup pass.

Desk-leg clearance

Compare the full machine body with the actual opening around legs, feet, crossbars, control boxes, and cables.

Walking and step-off room

Check belt length and width separately from the outside footprint and the clear route behind the machine.

Stability at working height

A load rating does not prove low wobble with a monitor arm, uneven floor, cable tension, or the desk near maximum extension.

Model and manual match

Keep the exact model, region, voltage, frame revision, top, and manufacturer document together before buying.

Calculator FAQ

Questions that change the answer

How do I calculate desk height for a walking pad?

Measure your standing floor-to-elbow height without the pad, then add the measured floor-to-walking-surface height of the installed pad and mat. That sum is a starting desktop target. Compare it with the finished desk range and leave adjustment room for your keyboard, shoes, posture, and comfort.

Can I use the walking pad’s overall height as deck height?

Only when the manufacturer explicitly labels that number as floor-to-belt, deck, standing-surface, or step-up height. An outside product dimension can include side rails, covers, or incline hardware. Measure the surface your feet actually stand on whenever the source does not settle it.

Should I add desktop thickness to the desk height?

Add it only when the manufacturer’s range is explicitly frame-only. Do not add the top again when the published range already describes the assembled desk. If the source is unclear, measure the finished desk or ask the manufacturer.

Does a passing height result prove the walking pad fits?

No. Height is one screen. You still need the clear opening around desk legs, feet, crossbars, cables, and controls; the full pad body and belt dimensions; rear step-off room; floor compatibility; and a stable keyboard and monitor setup.

What if my desk maximum only reaches the target exactly?

Treat that as borderline rather than a comfortable pass. A keyboard, tray, shoes, mat, different posture, or measurement error can consume the remaining margin. The calculator reserves a small adjustment band for this reason.

Continue the decision

Use the height result to narrow the products—not to skip the rest of the fit check.
